Fiercely Loyal

I have amazing friends.

I know that everyone says this but mine really do take the cake.

My girlfriend's, here in KC, have been my confidants, defenders, and my life support for the last 20 years. How many 27 year olds can say that? I fully believe that God gave me the perfect friends for the life that He had planned for me. I've already made a big long post on Facebook about them back in October so I won't reiterate that here.

I will say, however, that with my new adventure, they have been the ones who have given me the most support. They've told me that they're proud of me for following this dream and that they can't wait to come visit. They've expressed that they will defend my choice to start this journey in Denver, without Munchkin, to anyone who has anything negative to say about it.

And trust me, these girls are a fiercely loyal pack of momma bears that you do not want to anger!

And of course my boys, and yes this includes Boyfriend. I've got Boyfriend and  Judas (it's a nickname, don't ask) who are willing to make a weekend road trip to "bring me home" and to do whatever it takes to get me back to Denver. After the day I had this brought me to happy tears. Here, I have Topher, my best fwiend, my partner in crime and who's always there for me.
He's even willing to caravan across Kansas with his car full of stuff just so I don't have to rent a U-haul for the first trip.

I've seriously got the best core group of friends any person could ask for, and I thank God everyday for rekindling that spark between Boyfriend and I last St. Patty's Day over stuffed French toast and Irish Coffee.

I have no link to music (mainly because this post was done from my phone and I haven't figured that out yet) BUT I will give you an artist and song!

Lee Coulter - Gray or Blue (with Kate Vincent)

Boyfriend actually sent me this song, and after the day I've had this is just the music therapy the Doctor ordered.

3 Days 9 Hours

3 days and 9 hours is all that I have left in Kansas City.

3 days and 9 hours until I move more than 30 minutes away from my parents. For the first time since having the Munchkin.

3 days and 9 hours until I start the journey to moving to the place where I feel whole.

3 days and 9 hours until I leave for Denver, permanently.

. Holy Crap .

I have wanted to move back to Denver since I left after graduating from AIC. It has been 5 years and 2 months to the day since I graduated. There have been half a dozen trips there with plenty of visitors from there, and every time saying good-bye got harder and harder. The last time I flew home, which was just last December after a long Thanksgiving vacation with the Boyfriend, I cried. So did Munchkin, but I think that was more because he didn't want to leave Boyfriend. :-)

Boyfriend and I. Thanksgiving 2013.
Boyfriend just so happens to live in Denver, it's where we met. Well, technically, we met at student housing while we were both attending AIC. I distinctly remember sitting on the front steps having a conversation about food with him. He, on the other hand, has absolutely no recollection of this conversation.

None, what-so-ever, goober.

As much as I love Boyfriend, he is not the sole reason why I am moving back. I had actually made the decision that I was moving back before Boyfriend and I started dating last April. He just happens to be a very large bullet point on the "Pro" side of the list of reasons to move.

For those of you who don't know me, I love music! Currently in my iTunes I have 5404 songs! That's 29.05 GB of music or better translated into 14.9 days of music! I started my iTunes collection back in 2008 and I stopped adding to it because I discovered Spotify which is probably the best thing invented for someone like me.

I watch "So You Think You Can Dance" religiously; partially for the fantastic dancers, a little bit more for the even ah-mazing choreographers (I totally have a dance crush on Travis Wall), but primarily for the music! They use all these great new artists that haven't hit the mainstream radio waves and I just love it. Well, thankfully for me, someone with far more patience and determination hunts down all the songs from every week and puts them onto a playlist on Spotify so I don't have to!

At the end of every post I want to leave you all with a bit of music that I love. It may be mainstream it may not be, but I really like introducing people to artists they've never listened to before. I really enjoy new covers of old favorites, sometimes I end up liking the cover better than the original!

So, for this post I want to leave you all with this:

Howie Day - Collide [Acoustic]

ah the feels that go with this song for me! love it!

If you have an artist that you think I need to listen to tell me in the comments!
