And with that; camp is over for another year. This was probably my best year at camp so far. No crying episodes over photo stuff, no personal drama, and most importantly I was actually able to connect with a kiddo. I stayed with her most of the day, turning my fingers green from the spray dye in her hair because she wasn't feeling well and I ran my fingers through her hair for most of the day. I rode the bus home with her (a first for me) because she asked, and when we got closer to Denver she asked me if I had any kids. I said yes and we talked about it a little bit. Then the kicker came: she sighed, leaned in to me a little more and said "I bet you're a great mom". I about lost it right then and there in the back seat of the bus.
